RIVER REGION ART ASSOCIATION
The River Region Art Center and Gallery is located in the city-owned Edenborn
Depot built in 1906. It serves as the association’s primary location for a gallery,
workshops, classes, meetings, receptions, resource library, and office space. In
addition to the Center, RRAA has a satellite location in the Houmas House
Plantation Gift Shop. Ongoing exhibits of fine art, folk art, photography, jewelry,
pottery, dolls, wood, fabric and literary art created by local artists can be found at
both locations, which are staffed by volunteers.
The first operational step in the friends learning process was to decorate the entire apartment with sticky notes. This had an almost ceremonial touch to it as the friends delved into dictionaries and proceeded to label everything with its corresponding English name.
